Reorder point and par answer different questions
The reorder point tells you when the inventory position has fallen far enough to trigger a purchase. The working par estimates how much stock should cover supplier lead time, the safety buffer, and the period until the next inventory review. Both depend on measured usage. If the daily-use estimate is wrong, a precise formula still produces the wrong purchase plan.
